The Benefits of Exercise

You know you're supposed to exercise, but what's in it for you?

Exercising provides many benefits, physical and mental. Proper exercise can prevent chronic health problems, aid in weight loss, and help you sleep better!

Mental Benefits

Exercise is a great stress reliever and helps prevent depression. During exercise, your brain chemicals are working out with you and you instantly feel happier and better about yourself. The high activity level also boosts your HDL, good cholesterol, and decreases your LDL, or bad cholesterol.

Prevent Disease

Physical activity also helps to prevent or manage high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis and some cancers.

Weight Loss

Weight loss is just another added benefit of exercise. The more active the exercise, the more calories you will burn. High levels of activity increase the oxygen and nutrients delivered to your tissues, and this, in turn, increases your blood circulation and helps you in working out more efficiently and with more energy.

Sleep Better

After a nice workout, your body is ready for rest; a good night’s sleep is one of the best benefits of exercise. Of course, exercising too close to bedtime can actually energize you and keep you up, so make sure to exercise many hours before bedtime.
