Grapefruit Diet

The grapefruit diet is based on the premise that grapefruit has fat burning properties. The diet itself lasts ten to twelve days and is designed to help participants lose ten pounds during this time. Dieters may continue to lose additional weight after the initial diet is finished until they reach their weight loss goals. Participants must eat grapefruit with each meal, drink eight glasses of water each day and consume as much black coffee as possible. Meals should consist of few carbohydrates and many vegetables. Dieters are allowed to eat butter with their vegetables. The grapefruit diet may be ideal for short term weight loss but won't necessarily provide a participant with a long term healthy lifestyle.

WARNING to those on certain medications: Grapefruit can interfere with your medications and can have dangerous interactions. Especially some cholesterol lower medications. I love grapefruit, but it is important to make sure that you are not taking a drug that can interact with grapefruit.
