The leg extension is a exercise machine exercise that primarily targets the quads and to a lesser degree also targets the quads.

    This really feels like the only exercise that completely isolates my quads.

    The machine leg extension is great for isolating the quad muscles. But be careful with this machine because if this is the only quad exercise that you do than you are not going to be strengthening the "helping muscles" surrounding the main bulk of the quad. Doing strictly isolation on a machine is a good way to find yourself with a nicely shaped muscle and possible injuries down the road. Make sure you're using machines combined with free weight, compound, practical movements.
