  • At a net worth of $200 million, Tony Little is worth the most out of every trainer on the list.
  • You don’t need to be a high-profile trainer to earn a comfortable living.

Celebrity personal trainers are known for their hard bodies and big personalities (that can sometimes get them into trouble). Nonetheless, these trainers prove that with a little creativity, a little luck, and a lot of commitment, a personal trainer can do more than simply train clients.

Of course, you don’t have to author books or host TV shows to make a name for yourself in the fitness industry. Sign up for our All-in-One Fitness Business Management Software to start managing your business better so that you can set yourself up for success.

Now, let’s take a look at their stats before diving into each trainer individually:

Top Celebrity Fitness Trainers

These trainers are famous for an array of reasons. Interestingly, their fame does not specifically come from producing results for a wide range of clients. From being television stars to being fitness-equipment creators to authoring health-oriented books, these celebrity fitness trainers rose to fame in a variety of ways, chiseled abs in tow.

1. Jillian Michaels

Jillian Michaels is worth about $14 million and has been on shows like The Biggest Loser, The Doctors, and her own show, Losing It with Jillian. She has her own video games for Wii, including Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2010. If that’s too high-tech for you, consider one of her 18 fitness DVDs to date. She co-owns the Sky Spot Spa with celebrity fitness trainer Jackie Warner.

Michaels has also written 7 books and has countless products available for sale, including a detox cleanse, many fat-burning supplements, weights, yoga mats, and clothing. Some of these products have gotten her in court-level trouble in the past. February 2010 found Jillian in the midst of a lawsuit with lawyer Melissa Harnett over the effectiveness of Jillian Michaels Maximum Strength Calorie Control.

Jillian Michaels Maximum Strength Fat Burner contained citrus Aurantium, rumored to cause high blood pressure and heart troubles. Michaels was sued over this ingredient, too. In August of 2010, the Triple Process Total Body Detox and Cleanse went under fire in the amount of $10 million. A few of the ingredients were alleged to cause ulcers, digestive issues, and potentially unfixable liver damage. (Turns out the detox might not be as cleansing as you think.)

Clearly no stranger to controversy, Michaels was back in the tabloids in 2019 for blasting CrossFit, not long after giving her two cents on the keto diet, something that many keto dieters were very unhappy with. Despite this seemingly bad publicity, Michaels is still thriving and has a new clothing line, fitness equipment line, and is releasing a new book in 2021.

2. Bob Greene

When we say “celebrity trainer,” we not only mean he’s a celebrity for being a great personal trainer but that he personally trains celebrities, most-notably, Oprah.

Greene, 60, lives in Santa Barbara, California. He’s worth $1.4 million. He’s written 10 books, two of which were co-authored by Oprah Winfrey herself. He’s been on her show and written features for O Magazine and Oprah.com.

Bob Greene’s Total Body Makeover is his trademark DVD. Greene created the Best Life Diet and Fitness Plan to help create a total life makeover for, well, the best life. Not to be outdone, he also has a Wii Game called Active Personal Trainer.

Bob’s also a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Council on Exercise.

3. Tony Little

At a net worth of $200 million, Tony Little is no stranger to the fitness industry or to controversy. One of his trademark pieces of exercise equipment, Tony Little’s Gazelle Glider, was found by the FTC to make many unsubstantiated claims on its commercials. One such claim was that users could burn up to 1000 calories every hour using the equipment.

Annually, Little’s infomercials run for more than 6,000 hours, earning him about $4 million globally each year. Little became a member of the Fitness Hall of Fame in 2006 and is known for catchphrases like, “You can do it,” “It’s technique,” “Always believe in yourself,” and the catchy, “Conceive, Believe and Achieve.” Aside from the negative publicity, Little is still in the game and has a website that sells everything from fitness gear to clothing and motivational books.

4. Bob Harper

Celebrity fitness trainer Bob Harper is the tallest trainer on the list but still comes in below 6’0″ at 5’11”. He weighs 167 pounds and lives in Los Angeles. Harper is worth $4 million. He’s known for his role on The Biggest Loser and caters to celebrity clients like Jennifer Jason Leigh, Ben Stiller, Selma Blair, and Goop’s Gwyneth Paltrow.

He has several fitness DVDs for fat burning and muscle building. His rugged beard and lean, sculpted build led PETA to name him 2010’s Sexiest Vegetarian. Harper’s a lifestyle coach for Quaker Oats, and he doesn’t just advocate for a healthy lifestyle — he lives one. Harper works out for 90 minutes a day, 6 days a week and eats a plant-based diet.

5. Jackie Warner

This 51-year-old fitness trainer from Beverly Hills is worth about $10 million. Warner has two TV shows, Workout and Thintervention. She’s the spokeswoman for Fit in Your Skin, a health/wellness campaign for people suffering from psoriasis.

She’s got a couple of DVDs under her belt, as well as a book called “This Is Why You’re Fat (And How to Get Thin Forever).” She co-owns Sky Sport Spa with Jillian Michaels, and she’s been known to charge up to $400 for one training session.
