Is your posture getting to be a pain in the neck? Loosen up with this neck routine!

You know what it's like. You've been looking down at a desk for an hour without moving. Then you get up for a glass of water. 

That's when you feel it - a nasty crick in your neck that won't go away. You twist and turn every which way but to no avail.

Your body is telling you to loosen up those neck and shoulder muscles. Perform this routine for a quick fix!

You might feel a little burning at first. But you'll be as good as new when you're finished!

Neck Pull

Step 1

Neck Pull - Flexibility Exercise - Step 1

Stand with your arms hanging at your sides.

 

Step 2

Neck Pull - Flexibility Exercise - Step 2

Place your fingers on top of your head and pull forward gently until your chin almost touches your upper chest.

Step 3

Neck Pull - Flexibility Exercise - Step 3

Hold this pose for several breaths and repeat the entire motion.

 

Chin to Chest

Stand with your arms hanging at your sides.

Step 2

Lower your head so that your chin almost touches your upper chest.

Step 3

Hold this pose for several second and repeat.

Stand with your arms hanging at your sides.

 

 

Step 2

Shoulder Blade Squeeze - Flexibility Exercise - Step 2

Shift your shoulders back and together as far as you can comfortably go and hold this position for several deep breaths.

 

Step 3

Relax your shoulders and repeat for the desired the number of reps.

 

 

Side to Side Seated Neck Stretch

Side to Side Seated Neck Stretch - Flexibility Exercise - Step 1

Sit on the edge of the chair with your feet flat on the ground and your hands in your lap.

Step 2

Side to Side Seated Neck Stretch - Flexibility Exercise - Step 2

Slowly turn your head from side to side, keeping your chin level and the rest of your body still.

Step 3

Side to Side Seated Neck Stretch - Flexibility Exercise - Step 3

Keep your back straight and move your neck very gradually. Repeat for the desired number of reps.
