Downward Facing Dog

An intermediate level pose that will engage your legs, arms, and back.

  • Step 1

    Downward Facing Dog - Yoga Exercise - Step 1

    Come up onto all fours with your hands under your shoulders and your knees under your hips. Tuck your toes and lift your knees off the ground while straightening both legs.

  • Step 2

    Downward Facing Dog - Yoga Exercise - Step 2

    Try to balance your weight between the arms and legs making a straight line from the hips to the hands while engaging the core and lengthening the spine.

  • Step 3

    Release the head and neck between the arms and breathe deeply.
