Turmeric is thought to have antioxidant properties that may treat digestive disorders and too much acidity in the body as well as purify the blood. It is believed to be an antiseptic and may help heal burns and cuts. Turmeric may have anti-inflammatory and antihistamine properties. Some believe it is also beneficial for dental protection. It is believed to prevent and treat acne and promote healthy skin. Those who apply turmeric paste to the skin may benefit from a reduction of unwanted body hair. Turmeric may cause indigestion or heartburn if consumed in large quantities.
