AST Products Breakdown

Protein is a major staple mark in the cabinets of any weight lifter. Protein aids in the recovery of the muscles after an intense workout. AST offers five protein specific products. They range from protein bars to flavored powders to be made into shakes.

The Energy & Fat Loss category at AST has four products. Each of these products are designed to give you a boost of energy for your workouts. You can purchase these energy products in capsules, gum or powders, depending on your preference.

In the Amino Acid category, you will find eight products. Again, these come in pill or powder form. In most cases you will find that powder mixed with liquid absorbs better than pills do. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. Without amino acids, the protein in your body would be unable to repair your muscles because the protein would not be present at all.

The Creatine products, of which there are three, claim that they can increase muscle volume, increase muscle strength and increase muscle endurance. Again, there are pills or powders to choose from. Creatine is well studied and trusted within the supplement and exercise arena.

There are two products in the Performance Lipids category. According to AST their performance lipids reduce muscle breakdown and increase protein productivity. In addition, they claim that the lipids reduce inflammation, which speeds up your recovery after a workout. Lastly, they claim that these performance lipids will help you to lose fat too.

Surprisingly, there are only two products in the vitamin and mineral category. They are the same multivitamin/multi-mineral supplement, one with 100 tablets and the other with 200 tablets.

Lastly is the Pro-Hormones category, which has one product, DHEA. It is believed that DHEA aids in hormone development. DHEA has been well studied by the scientific community, however, as with most items studied in clinical trials, supplement versions of DHEA were not use. Pharmaceutical prescription level products were used and they were liquid IV injected forms.

AST Reliability of Products

AST takes great pride in the purity of the products that they sell. They claim that their products don’t contain fillers and that they never use secondary products and claim that it is the primary.

For example, many supplement companies that sell DHEA products use Mexican Wild Yam as the DHEA product. However, studies have shown that while Mexican Wild Yam is a precursor to DHEA, it does not produce DHEA in the human body. AST claims that they never use secondary unproven product in this manner.
