BigNutrition and the Lack of Information

To their credit, BigNutrition lists the ingredients of their individual products on their website. However, no explanation of these ingredients and how they allegedly work is offered. To the experienced user of nutritional supplements this may not be a problem. But for someone who knows nothing about how the supplements aid weight loss or exercise, the lack of information regarding the effectiveness of individual ingredients could cause some confusion.

For example, one of their weight loss products contains 30mg of apple cider vinegar. There is no scientific evidence to suggest that apple cider vinegar does anything to aid weight loss in such small doses. The same can be said for many other ingredients included in this particular product. Unlike some of their competitors, BigNutrition offers no published studies or clinical results as proof that their supplements actually work.

Big Nutrition Website

Because BigNutrition supplements are not available from other retailers, the consumer's only choice for product review and ordering is the company website. On the positive side, the front page of the website provides a quick overview of the Thermadrol product that's straightforward and easy to understand. The left column contains a toll-free number as well as a link for live, online support. At the time the writing of this review began, online support was indeed available. However, the link showed support being off-line about 15 minutes later.

Like most websites, the BigNutrition site organizes its products into three different categories:

  • Bodybuilding
  • Sleep
  • Weight loss

Following all three links reveals a total of just five products for sale. This is in contrast to other reviews that suggest BigNutrition carries a much larger list of items. One possible explanation for the discrepancy may be the fact that BigNutrition may have at one time acted as a distributor for other manufacturers. Now, they may only be distributing their own products.

BigNutrition Ordering

As previously stated, the company does not make its products available to other retailers, so consumers must order online at their website. Each of the five products contains a link to a page that gives a brief overview, a list of ingredients, and posts by previous customers. Product pricing is on par with other similar supplements, and the company offers volume discounts as you buy in greater quantities.

The shopping cart application is quick, easy to navigate, and can help you complete your shopping experience in just a few minutes. The company accepts payment via major credit card and through the PayPal payment system.

Shoppers can register for an account which will enable a quicker and more efficient shopping experience, or they can shop as a guest. The main advantage of opening an account is eliminating the need to enter credit card and shipping information every time you order.

BigNutrition Final Thoughts

This review shares the opinion of many others in suggesting that there are better nutritional supplement options than BigNutrition. The lack of substantive information regarding ingredients and their effectiveness leads one to wonder if their products really work as advertised.

The discrepancies regarding what the company carries now, as opposed to what they might have carried in the past, suggests that BigNutrition might be undergoing some structural business changes. Lastly, BigNutrition products don't contain any revolutionary ingredients not found in other supplements, giving consumers no reason to go out of their way to purchase from them.
