Bjorklund Product Information and SafetyThe main product produced and marketed by Bjorklund is the anabolic steroid, Methyldrosterone. This product is marketed to men wishing to gain strength and muscle mass. A warning is listed on any websites it is sold on stating that it is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 21, and should not be used by those subject to athletic or work related blood or urine testing. Methyldrosterone is an oral form of the injectable steroid Masteron. It is considered to be three to four times more anabolic than Masteron. It is also considered to have one of the highest toxicity levels of any steroid. Anabolic steroids such as Methyldrosterone come with several side effects in addition to the desired effect of strength enhancement. The most significant side effect is damage to the liver, generally manifested through a condition known as reversible cholestasis. Bile acids from the liver slow down or become completely blocked making them unable to assist in the breakdown of foods. Symptoms include reduced appetite, nausea, jaundice, excessive itchy skin, and dark urine. It is recommended that anyone who does choose to use this supplement not use it for more than two weeks and take a liver protecting supplement in connection with it. Additional side effects of Methyldrosterone include bloat, aggression, and hair loss in men already susceptible to male pattern baldness. Bjorklund Product Sales in the U.S.Bjorklund’s Methyldrosterone was recalled and banned by the FDA, along with 65 other nutritional supplement products, on November 3, 2009. Although the company states that there have been very few reported side effects, the FDA claims otherwise. The FDA states that liver toxicity is a significant concern when this product is used. The FDA also lists male infertility, masculinization of women, breast enlargement in males, a high correlation with steroid use and misuse of other drugs and alcohol, negative effects on blood lipid levels, and increased risk of heart attack, stroke, and even death, as additional potential side effects. Since this recall, most websites that show Bjorklund Methyldrosterone state that it has been discontinued, is no longer for sale, or is out of stock indefinitely. It is unclear at this time whether or not the product is still widely marketed in Europe, or if it is available from any European websites. Two websites were found that stated the product is available through the Bjorklund website, however, as previously stated, that website is not currently operational. With any supplements, no matter how safe they are considered, it is always smart to consult a doctor first before beginning use. The healthiest way to improve upon your body is through healthy nutrition; however, diet alone is not always able to produce the results that many athletes or body builders need to gain the strength and performance they require to excel in their sport. Still, severe side effects impacting your health, or interactions with other drugs you are currently taking, will not do you any good.
