Celsius Products

As mentioned above, all of Celsius’ products are drinks. They range from soda type drinks to teas and energy drinks.

The sodas or “Sparkling Flavors” offered by Celsius are:

  • Sparkling Orange
  • Sparkling Wild Berry
  • Sparkling Cola
  • Sparkling Ginger Ale

Celsius claims that these drinks will:

  • Burn calories
  • Reduce body fat
  • Provide energy
  • Help you build lean muscle
  • Boost your metabolism

Celsius offers four tea choices:

  • Raspberry Acai Green Tea
  • Peach Mango Green Tea
  • Lemon Iced Tea
  • Strawberry Kiwi Iced Tea

The benefit claims for these products are the same claims made for the sodas offered by Celsius. In addition, Celsius claims that these products contain no sugar, no corn syrup, no artificial preservatives and so on.

Celsius energy drinks include:

  • Celsius On-the-Go Powder Sticks
  • Celsius Apple Orchard Blend
  • Celsius Calypso Punch Shots

Again, Celsius claims the same benefits for their energy products as they do for their other products. In addition, they claim that you will receive sustained energy when taking their energy drinks, without the associated crash of many other brands of energy drinks.

One of the things that Celsius really focuses on with their products is flavor. A search online revealed that even those individuals who didn’t feel as if the product worked the way it said still thought that the Celsius drinks tasted good. With many supplement products tasting like sugar or like vitamins, this is an appealing draw for many people. Of course, if they don't work- it's pointless!

Celsius Science

Okay, so Celsius claims that their product claims are backed by proof. The good news is that this is a company that spends money on studies for their products. In fact, every single one of their products has an associated study with it. Most supplement companies don’t do this because it costs so much money, so that is something to consider.

The problem is, you now have to consider the quality of each of the studies. The first thing that we looked at was the length of the studies. The longest study conducted was 10 weeks and the shortest study conducted was 1 day!

Another consideration that you have to make is how many people participated in each study. Of all the studies, the most people who were part of any trial were 60 and the least amount was 20. This isn’t great, but the really bad news is that all of the participants in every study were college aged, which means that they already have higher metabolisms and energy levels than, for example, a sedentary 45 year old.

Lastly, you have to consider the health of the people participating in each study. In most cases the participants were healthy college students who already participated in regular workout programs. In the one study that had sedentary college students, these folks saw better results than those not sedentary.

This isn’t surprising, actually, because a sedentary person will lose weight faster initially than someone who works out on a regular basis. What this means is that these results aren’t as spectacular as you might imagine, basically the data is tainted a bit.

The overall conclusion for the majority of these studies is that Celsius products “may” provide a calorie burning benefit and that longer term studies needed to be conducted to determine the full benefit and to ensure that there would be no long term side effects from using Celsius products.

Celsius Product Ingredients

The last thing that you will want to consider is the ingredients that Celsius uses in their products. The great news is that their products each have all of the ingredients clearly labeled. However, you do need to understand certain terminology to get the full picture of the ingredients.

For example, the Raspberry Acai Green Tea says that it doesn’t have sugar or aspertain, that it uses Sucralose as the sweetener. However, if you look up Sucralose, you will find that this is simply another name for Splenda. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it just suggests that they are trying to make common ingredients look special in some way.

In addition, if you see the ingredient taurine, you need to understand that this is a stimulant. This is where the energy increase comes from. Just because a product is natural doesn’t mean that what’s inside of it is what you want to put in your body.

Other ingredients found in Celsius products are:

  • Vitamin C
  • Riboflavin
  • Niacin
  • Vitamins B6 and B12
  • Biotin
  • Pantonthenic Acid
  • Calcium
  • Chromium
  • Sodum
  • Taurine (stimulant)
  • Guarana extract (same compound as caffeine)
  • Caffeine
  • More…
