A review of the product list reveals that GAT has focused heavily on bodybuilders and weightlifters. Consumers merely looking to lose some extra weight or engage in a healthier lifestyle will probably not find anything suitable from German American Technologies.

Product pricing seems to be a little high when compared to some of GAT's competitors. For example, their flagship product JetFuel is billed as a high-powered fat burner. One bottle of JetFuel contains 120 capsules at a price of $49.95, which may seem reasonable if one assumes a daily dosage of one or two capsules.

However, the JetFuel product label sets a single serving at three capsules and recommends a dosage of twice daily. At six capsules per day, one bottle of JetFuel would last a mere 20 days. $49.95 is a lot to pay for 20-day supply of supplements!

In defense of German American Technologies, the company does offer free sample packs. The sample packs provide three or four servings of an individual supplement so users can try them out before committing. However, there's a question as to whether or not such a small sample can provide an adequate test.

Like so many other nutritional supplement companies, German American Technologies seems to be more hype than substance where their website is concerned. For example, the front page consists of nothing more than a colorful, bold banner advertisement for their latest product. The "about" link takes users to a page consisting of a handful of paragraphs that are more or less meaningless- a lot of big words are used but nothing of any real substance is conveyed.

• The GAT website does contain a link designated as "athletes". Clicking this link redirects to a page featuring two bodybuilders; one male, one female. Clicking on either one of these athletes produces a short bio including athletic accomplishments.

• Interestingly, other third party websites claim that GAT enlists a host of well known athletes who use their products. Why those athletes are not listed and promoted on the official GAT company website is not clear.

• The site also contains a link for amateur athletes who wish to be featured on the website. An online form allows interested candidates to enter their information which they are to submit along with photographic examples. Again, none of these athletes seems to be featured on the website, which raises the question as to why the form is there to begin with.

Perhaps the one positive aspect of the GAT website is their contact page, where GAT provides their full address, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, and an online contact form. It appears as though any user can get in touch with the company to ask questions or make their concerns known. It's also assumed that GAT will respond to customers in a timely manner.

GAT tends to rely on slick marketing and pseudo-intellectual communication to convince customers that their products are worth buying.
