Tell us about yourself, your background, and your journey into fitness.

In 1975,  I met the love of my life Marguerite, and we were married in 1978 and have been married 34 years now. I attended Kean College and studied business management.

I worked in that field until 1982 and then changed gears and started a career in the Alarm Industry. In 1989 I started my own company called Mid-State Security Systems, Inc.

After the birth of my daughter, I slowly started gaining weight, eventually reaching a high weight of 391 pounds in December of 2007.

At that point, I’d had enough and started dieting. After losing 100 pounds, I started working out again.

It wasn’t until September 2010 that I made a real change in my life and my wife and I became vegans. After that, the weight started coming off with a combination of eating well and exercise.

In January of this year I signed up for Exercise.com, and I’ve found that logging my workouts and being a part of a like-minded and supportive community such as Exercise.com has helped me reach my goals.

In February, I reached my goal weight of 189 pounds and now with the help of Exercise.com I know I will reach my workout goals!

Can you pinpoint an exact time when you felt like fitness had changed your life?

I would say January of this year. I re-introduced weight training into my workout program and now I feel better than I have in at least 30 years.

What are your current workout goals?

My current goal is to have a strong core, lots of crunches…LOL…and to whip this old body into shape!

What is your favorite post-workout meal? What about a favorite cheat meal?

My favorite morning post-workout meal is two oranges, a banana, a piece of cornbread, two glasses of water and a hemp protein shake with mixed fruit and flax meal.

My favorite evening post-workout meal is whole wheat pasta with kale, sauce, and plenty of garlic.

Now a cheat meal….Vegans don’t cheat…LOL…If I did it would be a nice big steak and a Heineken.

Give us an interesting fact about yourself

I don’t know if it’s interesting but on a trip to Nevada we went to the Grand Canyon and I approached a pack of wild horses and petted one of them.

Maybe more crazy than interesting.
