If you are taking acetyl tyrosine to help improve alertness from lack of sleep, it is recommended that you take anywhere from 100 mg to 250 mg either in the morning or in the afternoon when you feel your fatigue settling in.

For most other reasons, you can take anywhere from 250 mg to 500 mg of acetyl tyrosine daily. Start with a lower dose and then increase from there if you don’t notice any adverse side effects.

Because acetyl tyrosine is available in different size capsules, often ranging from 250 mg to 750 mg, make sure you read the label and instructions so you know how much you are supplementing with. You don’t want to take too much as this can lead to unwanted side effects.

Side Effects Associated With Taking Acetyl Tyrosine

In general, acetyl tyrosine taken in normal doses is safe for healthy adults and is not usually accompanied by side effects. If you take it in high doses, however, you may notice some unwanted effects.

These may include restlessness, increase irritability, heart rhythms that are abnormal, and increased anxiety. Other side effects may be noticed such as joint pain, fatigue, nausea, heartburn, and headache.
