Xanthinol Nicotinate

Xanthinol Nicotinate

Aid Overall Health

Xanthinol nicotinate is a very potent, water soluble form of niacin that can be found in several health supplements, mostly liquid in form. Due to its potency, nicotinate has the ability to pass through the cell membranes at a much quicker rate than other forms of niacin.

Niacin is also known as Vitamin B3, and is necessary for the body to perform all of its natural functions. The body requires a constant flow of B3 because it does not retain it in storage for later use. The easiest way to ensure proper levels of niacin in the body is to regularly consume it in supplement form, especially since the absorption rate of xanthinol nicotinate is so quick.

Not all types of physical activity are suitable for everyone. Users take training advice at their own personal risk.

Xanthinol Nicotinate Benefits

Xanthinol nicotinate is primarily used to speed up the metabolism of glucose in the brain, as well as increase the levels of ATP. In doing so, it elevates the rate of blood flow inside the brain, which in turn promotes increased energy levels in the area. It is primarily used to treat short term memory problems, since the elevated rate of blood flow to the brain improves memory function, concentration and awareness.

Niacin is also used in certain dietary supplements to temporarily facilitate weight loss because it is thought to improve the speed at which glucose is metabolized throughout the body as well. However, it is important to note that the majority of weight loss attributed to niacin will be water weight – not fat. Therefore, it should not be used in replacement of a healthy nutrition plan, and cannot be seen as an effective long term method of weight control.

Aside from memory enhancement, niacin is also used to help improve reaction time in elderly patients. Niacin is able to stimulate circulation because it helps relax the interior of the blood vessels, which in turn helps the body respond to stimuli at a much faster rate.

Xanthinol Nicotinate Side Effects

The most common side effect associated with xanthinol nicotinate is something called a niacin flush, a phenomenon that many people are familiar with experiencing immediately following an energy drink. A niacin flush causes the skin to turn a darker color temporarily, which subsequently makes it feel hot to the touch – the flush may or may not be followed by a minor bout of itchiness. Typically, the skin on the face and neck is the first to turn a reddish color.

The effects of a niacin rush have been reported to linger for up to 30 minutes after ingesting the supplement. However, if the skin remains flushed and hot to the touch for longer than that you should seek the advice of a medical professional. The above side effects are typically the most severe during the first few weeks of treatment while the body adjusts to increased niacin levels.

Other less commonly experienced side effects may include the following: nausea, heart palpitations, minor to severe headaches, cramps, and changes in vision. Some of these side effects have the potential to become life threatening, and as such should be treated with caution. If you experience any changes in vision, heart rate or a prolonged headache you should immediately discontinue use and seek medical attention.

Xanthinol Nicotinate Supplemental Considerations

You should always consult with your doctor before you add any supplement to your daily regimen – especially if you are looking into taking niacin because of memory or circulation problems. Any loss of memory, or decrease in circulation to the extremities, can be a sign of a very serious underlying problem.

You should always inform your doctor of any medicine or other supplements that you are taking. Xanthinol nicotinate should not be taken in conjunction with any MAO inhibitors, and has the potential to react adversely to other medications as well.

Xanthinol Nicotinate Dosage

The recommended dosage of xanthinol nicotinate is between 300 and 600mg per day. The dose should be taken in increments throughout the day, 100-200mg at a time, with both food and liquid.

Please note that a larger dose has no advantage over a smaller one because niacin is a water soluble nutrient. If you consume more than the body needs then the excess will be flushed out in the urine, not retained in the body for later use.

Xanthinol nicotinate is also occasionally prescribed to help heal external ulcers on the body. In this case, patients are typically prescribed 2400 mg of the supplement, for the duration of 10 weeks. Please note that this is not a recommended dose of niacin for everyday use – you should never consume more than recommended unless you have consulted with your physician and they give you the go ahead.
