Scarsdale Medical Diet

The Scarsdale medical diet is sometimes considered a fad diet on account of its claims to help dieters lose 30 pounds in 30 days. The program is built around a two-week period, during which time the dieter must follow the menu guidelines, which consist of foods low in carbohydrates and calories and high in protein. The dieter is not allowed to eat desserts or sweets of any kind and must abstain from pasta and alcoholic beverages. After the first two weeks are finished, individuals must follow lifestyle guidelines with less restrictions. Although this program might work for the first two weeks, it won't help users keep the weight off. Considering its restrictive properties, the body will also lack some nutrition during the first 14 days. This diet is not intended as a long term weight management solution.
