- Step 1: If needed, begin by performing some light static stretches to loosen up the muscles in your legs and lower back.
- Step 2: Stand with your torso upright in good posture and keep your core tight.
- Step 3: Begin walking as you normally would, focus on landing between your heel and the middle of your foot. Try not to land straight on your heel or flat on your feet.
- Step 4: Be sure to swing your arms back and forth as you walk. Do not just let your arms hang down at your sides when walking.

Very enjoyable cardio if you have enough time
Walking is a very comfortable to burn some calories. It's also a nice way to break up your day by taking a walk outside if you have an indoor job. This is a pretty good video on some of the benefits of walking by Elliot Hulse. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKelkKvm49Y
Walking is great! Try mixing it up by walking as fast as you can (without running) and getting your arms involved for extra cardio. It needs to be challenging for it to work :)
