Limit Verkada Door Access by Package and Location

The Exercise.com – Verkada integration provides gym owners with a 24/7 access control system that automatically updates based on a client’s active package status.

Verkada allows you to set up smart locks on your facility doors. Clients can unlock doors using the Verkada Pass mobile app or other supported access credentials, or directly from your custom branded app, giving them secure, authenticated entry into your gym.

To grant clients access, you must enable Verkada access for a package. Only clients with an active Verkada-enabled package will be added to your Verkada account.You can also enable Kisi for specific locations.

Configuring your Packages for Granting Verkada Access to Clients:

• Clients will be added to Verkada if: The package has Verkada access enabled, regardless of any location settings.
• Clients will NOT be added to Verkada if: The package does not have Verkada access enabled.

Package Expiration / Renewal Behavior:

• If a client has a subscription package with Verkada access that renews automatically, their access will continue without interruption.
• If the package expires (due to cancellation, expiration date, or removal), the client’s Verkada access will be revoked, and they will no longer be able to unlock doors.

1. Connect to Verkada

Connecting to Verkada allows you to set up smart locks on your doors, which clients can unlock using the Verkada Pass app and/or access credentials, giving them authenticated entry into your facility.

2. Enable Verkada Access

When getting started with Verkada, make sure that your packages have Verkada access enabled. You’ll also need to link each Verkada-enabled package to the appropriate Verkada access group. This ensures that clients with that package are added to the correct group within Verkada. This setup is useful for offering different access privileges based on membership levels.

3. Packages

Now let’s look at how to enable Verkada access for a specific package. Start by clicking the Packages tab in the left-hand menu under the “Schedule” section.

4. Edit Package

Click the edit icon for the package you want to update, or create a new package.

5. Select Location

In the Edit Package screen, go to the Select Location section and choose a location from the drop-down list. If a location is specified, it must be Verkada-enabled to support door access functionality.

6. Enable Verkada Door Access

Scroll to the bottom of the package settings and check the box to enable Verkada door access.

7. Select Verkada Group(s)

Select the Verkada group(s) you want this package to sync with. When someone purchases a package with Verkada access, they’ll be granted door access to the selected Verkada group(s). They’ll retain access until the package expires.

8. Save Membership

Make sure to Save your Changes when you are done.
